MULQUEEN BENDIGO AUSTRALIAN COAT OF ARMS, as displayed, is Simon’s Family Shield.

It was designed and is the intellectual property Simon Mulqueen ©2003.

Meanings

  • Black – Represents the Funeral Industry which has been integral to the Bendigo Mulqueen’s since the 1890’s.
  • Gold – Represents the Gold Rush, one of the key factors that brought immigrants to Bendigo (Sandhurst) in the 1800’s.
  • Harp – The symbol synonymous with Ireland/Eire the country of origin for the Mulqueen/Mulqueeny families.
  • Southern Cross – From the Australian Flag, symbolic of our adopted country, Australia.
  • Poppet Legs – The recognised symbol of our adopted city the City of Greater Bendigo (The city was formerly known as Sandhurst and Bendigo).
